Ferneasa Cutno

Relentless in her desire to learn, Ferneasa has studied with the world renowned Ailey School and Jacob Pillow of the New Orleans Center for the Arts. Through her training and performing throughout the U.S., Africa, France, Italy, and Brazil, she is a seasoned professional.

She has shared her distinctive talent with others by performing with many of the premiere companies and ensembles, to include: Garth Fagan Dance of New York, Augusta Ballet, New Orleans Ballet Ensemble, and Lula Elzy Dance Ensemble.

Her professional performances include working with Wynton Marsalis Septet in PBS Great Performances (in Griot, New York), and Augusta Ballet's Sugar Cane and Sweetie Pie Productions.

She has been instrumental to the development of the next generation of great dancers by teaching for the Augusta Ballet Company, Augusta Mini Theatre, Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School, and the Boys and Girls Club of Augusta. Ferneasa is driven to assist others with bringing the art of dance into every community. In 2002, she served as the department head of the Georgia Governor's Honors Dance Department at Valdosta State University. In addition she has served on the board of directors for: Augusta Ballet, Imperial Theatre, Georgia Council for the Arts, and is the Artistic Director of Cutno Artist Group.

By combining her amazing talent, extensive knowledge, training and education, Ferneasa founded Cutno Dance Center in 1995. Since its inception, the school has been recognized nationally by Dancer Magazine as well as in numerous local newspapers and publications.
